I have to renew my drivers license in California, can I do it online?
Parker from North Hollywood, CA aks: Yo Jonny - it be Parker up in NoHo - my drivin license is bout to expire - can I renew dis thing wit out gettin up in the DMV?
Parker, your use of slang frightens me, but I will still help you because that is what I do.
In most cases, YES, you can renew your CA driver license without having to go to the DMV. In order to renew your license from home in North Hollywood or anywhere in California, make sure you:
-
• Have internet access (this is straight from the DMV)
• Are not changing your name or address (that is, all information in your license is staying the same)
• "Have a verified Social Security Number" on record with the DMV (you probably do even if you're not sure)
• Can pay with plastic - they accept the following credit cards: Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover
Hope that helps!
Until next time Parker from NoHo, get online, get your $28 renewal fee ready, and renew your California drivers license!
